Have questions? We’ve got answers.

  • What is Bloom?

Bloom is the next generation of pelvic care. It addresses women’s pelvic health disorders. The solution combines a Women's Health Specialist, a tailored pelvic-exercise program, and insightful resources to improve pelvic-floor health and function. Bloom provides clinical-grade care for pelvic health addressing bladder disorders, bowel dysfunction, pain from sex, bloating, discomfort, and pelvic pain.

  • Who is Bloom for?

Bloom is designed for women and individuals with vaginal anatomy age 18 and older. It is a benefit offered by employers and health plans. It addresses pelvic conditions through adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.

  • What is a Women’s Health Specialist and what do they do?

All of Bloom’s Women’s Health Specialists have physiotherapy degrees and years of clinical experience focusing specifically on the pelvic floor and pelvic health. Bloom members are paired with a Women’s Health Specialist to guide them through their Bloom program, and to answer questions along the way. The Women’s Health Specialist provides an individualized exercise plan to the pelvic-floor and pelvic girdle muscles and educates on anatomy, bladder/bowel habits, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications.

  • How does the program work?

Programs are designed by our Women's Health Specialists, all of whom have physiotherapy degrees. Programs are customized based on your pelvic symptoms. In general, programs are based on 3 sessions a week. Based on your needs, the program may be adjusted by your Women's Health Specialist.

  • What is the difference between Bloom and on-site pelvic-floor physiotherapy?

Bloom is more private and convenient than on-site physiotherapy. Onsite physiotherapy requires patients to travel to and from a clinic, and the travel time investment is one reason some people do not stick with in-person treatment for long. Bloom is a more convenient and private way of addressing pelvic health from the comfort of home or when you are travelling.

  • How does billing work with Sword Health?

Sword bills your insurance company first for your sessions. If your plan requires a co-pay, or if you reach your plan maximum, you may need to cover part of the cost out of pocket.

    • Initial Assessment: Your first virtual consultation with a licensed physiotherapist.
    • Therapy Engagement: Every time you complete 30 minutes of Sword therapy.
    • Follow up consultations: Additional consultations with your physiotherapist.

Bills are sent once a week. Each invoice shows the total cost of your sessions, how much your insurance covered, and what (if anything) you owe. Once Sword has billed a total of $800 CAD, billing stops and care continues. Learn more about billing on our Billing FAQ.
  • Does Sword provide special offers to Desjardins Insurance members?

If you’re covered by Desjardins Insurance, Sword Health will waive up to $120 CAD of your out-of-pocket costs for your therapy program. This discount applies automatically — you don’t need to do anything.
Once the $120 CAD has been used, you'll be charged for any remaining co-pays or out-of-pocket costs. Learn more about special offers on our Billing FAQ.

  • What happens if I pause or change my program?

If you stop therapy for a period of time but have already done more than 15 minutes in a 2-week window, that time will still be billed as a therapy milestone. If you decide to re-engage later, your billing cycle restarts from that point.

If you switch to a new therapy program, it is billed separately. You’ll complete a new Initial Assessment, and your therapy minutes will reset.
