Bloom is a comprehensive, effective and personalized pelvic care program, developed by Sword Health. The program includes a 1:1 Women’s Health Specialist, intravaginal pod, tailored pelvic-exercises and insightful health education resources. Bloom can help address symptoms including bladder leaks, needing to go to the bathroom frequently, pain from sex, straining to go to the bathroom, bloating, vaginal dryness, period cramps, hot flashes, mood swings, brain fog and more. It helps women in every life stage including pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.
Who is Bloom for?
Bloom is designed for women and individuals with vaginal anatomy age 18 and older. It is a benefit offered by employers and health plans. It addresses women’s physical health conditions through young adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.
What does the Bloom solution consist of?
The Bloom solution consists of the following components:
Women’s Health Specialists, with advanced training in women’s health, guide customized care for each member. All Bloom’s Women’s Health Specialists have Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees.
The Bloom Pod: an intravaginal, medical-grade silicone pod that contains a sensor to share exercise data from pelvic exercises.
A mobile app, to track real-time exercise and program progress and to access articles and resources.
Tailored Program: Customized exercise sessions and educational articles addressing the member’s specific women’s health needs and personal goals.
What is a Women’s Health Specialist and what do they do?
All of Bloom’s Women’s Health Specialists have Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees and years of clinical experience focusing specifically on women’s physical health. Bloom members select a Women’s Health Specialist to guide them through their Bloom program, and to answer questions along the way. The Women Health Specialist provides an individualized exercise plan, including mind-body exercises, lifestyle modifications, and health education.
How does the program work?
Programs are designed by our Women’s Health Specialists, all of whom have doctors of Physical Therapy degrees. Programs are customized based on your pelvic symptoms. In general, programs are based on 4 sessions a week. Based on your needs, the program may be adjusted by your Women’s Health Specialist.
How much does Bloom cost?
Bloom is an employee benefit paid for by employers and health plans. There is no cost to you or your family members and there is no need for a referral from your doctor. There are no out-of-pocket costs.
What is the difference between Bloom and on-site pelvic-floor physical therapy (PT)?
Bloom is more private and convenient than on-site physical therapy. Onsite PT requires patients to travel to and from a clinic, and the travel time investment is one reason some people do not stick with in-person treatment for long. Bloom is a more convenient and private way of addressing pelvic health from the comfort of home or when you are traveling.
Why does Bloom use an intravaginal device?
Some women experiencing pelvic-health disorders have difficulties engaging (contracting and lengthening) their pelvic floor muscles. An intravaginal device is needed to accurately determine if the muscles are properly engaged. It provides real-time feedback in the app and to your Women’s Health Specialist. External sensors do not accurately measure pelvic-floor contracting and lengthening.
